ALBANY (WRGB) The city of Albany will present its final report of the Albany Police Department racial bias audit Thursday, Dec. 3.

A preliminary audit was released earlier this month which found racial disparities among the department.

The report suggested ways the department could improve including data collection during traffic stops and a more concise use of force policy.

Chief Eric Hawkins responded to the preliminary report, saying there needs to be more context to the findings before moving forward.

When asked if there was a racial problem within his department, Chief Hawkins said,

"I don’t think so, but we don't know."

This final audit comes as an Albany police officer is under suspension after being caught on body camera footage making racist comments.
