NISKAYUNA , NY (WRGB)---"Shootout for Soldiers" got its start in Baltimore in 2012.
The concept is grand: a 24-hour lacrosse game to raise money and awareness for the struggles that veterans and active duty service members face.
It's no wonder that the shootout has taken off. This year, it will reach twelve cities across the United States, including Hillburn, NY.
One Colonie native has latched on to the event, as both a former high school lacrosse player and Air Force veteran.
As he looks to link up with local players and coaches who may have interest in joining the playing field, he joined us to talk about the impact of the event.
