ALBANY. NY (WRGB)--UAlbany men's lacrosse had a lot to think about during its two-day layover after beating reigning national champion North Carolina in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
Now, it's time for the Great Danes to look ahead to this weekend and a quarterfinal rematch with Maryland.
This afternoon at Bob Ford Field #8 seed UAlbany worked on a game plan for the top-seeded Terrapins, who won April's head-to-head by a single goal.
In order for the Great Danes to advance to their first-ever championship weekend, they'll look to head coach Scott Marr who is very familiar with the Maryland program, after serving as an assistant there for six years.
As an added bonus, they're playing on Marr's home field.
Marr was hired by Delaware's Bob Shillinglaw straight out of college as an assistant, and this weekend, Shillinglaw will be the Great Danes host as Marr looks to bring his team where they've never been before.
