NISKAYUNA, NY (WRGB)--Schenectady native JP Sportman got rave reviews his rookie season in the New York Penn League.
A year later, the Oakland A's prospect hit nearly .300 playing high 'A' ball in Stockton, California.
And this past summer, he aced his first season in Double 'A' down in Midland, Texas.
Right now, the La Salle graduate is enjoying some time at home, hitting regularly at all-star academy in Latham.
Pretty soon, the former 27th round draft pick will pack up for Clifornia, where he'll continue to prepare for spring training in Arizona.
If all goes well, he'll break camp with the athletics Triple A team in Nashville.
But, whether he heads straight to triple 'a', or gets reassigned to Texas, his ultimate goal hasn't changed since draft day.
